URSULA HESSLER (1339-1990), the daughter of GrossAdmiral Donitz, wrote some time ago: "I was very much astonished and glad to read about your interest in German submarine history, so many years after World War II. You are right - it is a good feeling, that 'Yesterday's Enemies are Today's Friends'. Your engagement for this exciting subject is invaluable and highly appreciated." ERNST HARRIS (2322-1992) writes: "I do very much congratulate you and all your staff, on the work you do so very well. The KRIEGSMARINE cannot complain, they have excellent coverage as do the Italian Navy U-Boots also, but I do not see too much of the RCN S/M Service." ERNST, we would love to run everything we can get on the Canadians in the submarine service - who wants to be the first to send us their story? We'll print it, I'm sure. RANDY JOHNSON (2921-1993) writes: "I have been a Member for only one year, but in that time I have become quite a fan of your organization. Please keep up the wonderful work on this informative, truth-seeking Magazine. I am extremely proud to belong to this organization with the world famous Membership it boasts." ERNST ZUNDEL (956-1989) writes simply: "Got the Magazine today; as always, very enjoyable." DAVID PHILLIPS (2895-1993) moved recently, and he writes: "Just to let you know I've moved and don't want to miss my favorite Magazine." STEVE SHOCK (2213-A/LIFE-1992) was with us in Chicago, and he writes: "Here's the next instalment on my LIFE Membership - a very small price to pay for the opportunity as I had in Chicago to sit at a table and speak to men like GERD THATER (194-LIFE-1986); Jurgen Zacharias and CDR WILLIAM GLENN (1257-A/LIFE-1989). These men are truly 'LIVING HISTORY' and gave me memories that will never fade. I cannot express how proud I am to be counted among the SHARKHUNTERS LIKE Members and am looking forward to Germany soon." FRAN DARCANGELO (87-LIFE-1985) wrote, but said nothing - instead, she sent us a beautiful silver medal dedicated to the 'HEROES OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC' and the biggest image on the coin is a TYPE VII-C U-Boat. Many thanks FRAN, and we hope to see you again soon. Retired US ARMY Sergeant MILTON CROW (913-1988) writes: "Just got my KTB - what a surprise! LENI RIEFENSTAHL (3157-1993) on the back cover! I met her in 1965, in her office. Just dropped in; she was very nice. She sends a card sometimes, me too. I'm halfway through her book now, it is great and enlightening! TRUTH. I've seen her two great films, we all know there is none better. She is a great woman." (HARRY'S NOTE- RICHARD HENRICKS 2568-1992 is a prolific fiction writer, with more than a dozen books in print and a movie soon to come out, and he made mention of one of LENI's works and our SHARKHUNTERS in his most recent book, ICE WOLF. Part of the setting of this book is the alleged German stronghold on Antarctica and in a scene on page 163, two World War II German veterans have just finished watching TRIUMPH OF THE WILL and when one say to the other how much he enjoyed watching the film and asks how he could possibly obtain a copy of it, his friend has a smile and says: "I got it from our friends in Florida." Thanks RICH. US COAST GUARD Chief Electrician's Mate TIM SCHUBERT (2398-1992) writes "I've been an avid U-Boat reader and researcher for many years and your publication helps in invaluable ways. A shame that the conning tower art works couldn't be in color." HARRY'S NOTE - Maybe good news TIM. We are trying to find a publisher in the USA who will publish this great book written by GEORG HOGEL (240-1987) in the USA. There is interest, but it is tough going. The translation will be costly and difficult, and color reproduction is another high cost item. But we are still trying! IAN McDERMOTT (603-1988) writes from England: "Continue the great job with SHARKHUNTERS. This history must be preserved." TONY GALAZ (959-1989) writes: "Thanks for providing us accurate information on the War at Sea."
