Ed Owens

We just learned that ED OWENS (640-1988) began his ETERNAL PATROL earlier this year. He served as an Engineman on board USS REQUIN and when that boat was in Tampa, ED was vital in assisting to blow the tanks and help move the boat to a new spot on the banks of the Hillsborough River.

For the past several years, ED was a police officer in central Florida, then started his own company, providing security to V.I.P. and movie stars when they visited his area.

Mrs. Owens called here and gave us the sad news. ED told her that he felt that something was very wrong and that he thought it was his final day, and as it turned out, he was correct. The medical people was called, but ED was gone before they could arrive. ED was a good Member of SHARKHUNTERS, a Sub Vet, and we will miss him. ED was just 47 years of age. Sail on in peace.
