reviewed by Dick Cole (204-1986)
Author: Juugen Rohwer Hardbound edition published by the Naval Institute Press in 1977, containing 256 pages, 166 photographs. The title explains the scope of this translated work. Dr. Rohwer provides almost overwhelming detail of the action, especially of the U-Boats involved and their movements. This type of information is usually lacking in books written from the allied side. Charts, photos, graphs and appendices are liberally supplied. Documentation is outstanding. This is an example of a well-researched book.
