If you've been feeling the need to get your bottom boiled by an irate Frenchman, this is the game for you. Charged by God Himself to find the Holy Grail, you will travel through a warped England that never was, reliving scenes from the classic film. Now you can witness the horrors of the plague, have at it with the Black Knight, and brave the perils of Castle Anthrax, all from the comfort and safety of your own home. Monty Python and the Holy Grail isn't a game as such, because the puzzles you have to solve in each scene are truly superficial. It's more like an interactive Python skit, or some kind of demented advent calendar. Click like a mad dog on all the objects you see, and you will be assailed with rude sounds, bizarre animations, recreations of classic scenes, and out-of-context rants that exude pure Python. Also included are several Python-esque arcade games, though they only become available after you've completed the relevant scene in your quest. For example, should you wish to play "Spank the Virgin" you'll have to reach Castle Anthrax first. These games are generally entertaining more for their novelty value than for their gameplay, unfortunately. The project was supervised by Python Alum and Brave Sir Robin Eric Idle, and it really shows. Monty Python and the Holy Grail does a remarkable job of bringing the Python experience home, and it is highly recommended to any fan. There are some moderately naughty bits to it though, so you might want to keep children and easily-offended friends away from it. Other Reviews
