Editor's Notes

Historicon '87

by Lynn Bodin

I will admit that I had a great time at Historicon in Harrisburg this past July. I even made money. I have every intention of returning again next year, and hope to see many of you again.

I would like to take a few moments to apologize to those of you who signed up for my Northwest Frontier game at Historicon. Next time I wi11 know better that to try out a new set of rules with such a large group and no experienced help! I'm sorry that there wasn't much action for many of you and that the natives were so a wishy-washy. If I do anything next year, I'll probably play TSATF (with modifications).

With the addition of two wholesale distributors, SAVAGE AND SOLDIER has almost doubled its circulation in the past 6 months. I am a bit overwhelmed but not complaining! Let's just hope that it lasts! It took 20 years to be noticted.

Well, there some new figures out and rumors of even more in the works. I am continually amazed by the recent variety of what was previously considered (it least by the manufacturers) as a no-profit era. Keep gaming folks, and we'11 make them eat their words!

I have sold out of the VMS Zulu War Special, but more are coming, so I am still accepting orders. There will be a delay in filling this, as surface mail is quite slow. I should get them by Christmas, though.

Keep these articles flowing! I have a fair to good supply, but will always accept anything which you can submit. I have promises for major articles for 1986, but nothing in hand yet.

Next Issue

Volume XIX, Number 4 will contain the conclusion of Milton Soong's "The Opium War", as well as other supporting articles, reviews, and other items of interest. Watch for the next issue of SAVAGE AND SOLDIER in late December or early January.
