WRG Interpretations

by Terry Gore

I find it hard to believe that this issue will begin the sixth year of publication for SAGA. In that time, the number of subscribers has grown from 15 to well over a hundred. We have managed to help sponsor two major WRG tournaments and have run the local SIMCON WRG events for the last four years. SAGA has also tried to keep a balanced forum in place for praise as well as criticism of NASAMW's various policies.

Though I find it, impossible to remain "neutral" most of the time. I have tried to allow both sides to have their say. This will continue to be my editorial policy. So much for politics.

My greatest enjoyment is in presenting new rules, scenarios and historical research in the pages of SAGA. I've never actually been able to achieve the quality of production which I desire with the newsletter, but I feel it has improved over the last year. Though I'm forced by economic restraints to go back to the old physical size format, the size of the print will continue to be larger and easy to read. This not only allows me to enlarge the number of pages each issue, but the cost of printing is kept down by 1/4.

Three subscribers did not receive last month's SAGA because they moved and I have no idea where they now live! The Postal service sends me back two or three copies every issue. The cost of remalling these issues, not even counting the time it takes to re-address and take them back to the post office, is prohibitive. If you move, please send me a forwarding address.

This last year. I must have caught the Hal Thinglum bug. I ended up buying and painting two new armies. For some reason, the Georgians now reside next to my Pre-Feudal Scots on the shelf. I don't know what I'll do with them, but I couldn't resist an army with their attitude towards the estahlished powers of the time. My Siculo-Normans have also finally been re-done. In researching Rohert Guiscard's notorious lifestyle for a future work in progress. I just had to buy some new figures and repaint the whole army. They will be done in time for SIMCON.

So much for that.. Note in this issue are the new WRG interps, I okayed by Phil... thanks to Scott Holder for these! Until next time.
