Making Up Army Lists

A HP Calculator Program

by Rick Umbaugh

When doing an army list, the math is a pain in the ass, particularly on the fourth revision. So one day I dragged out my old HP-11C and made a program to figure out unit costs. This is for WRG Seventh.

THE PROGRAM

PROCEDURE

The five programs are:
A Regular Units
B Irregular units
C Regular Unit with Mixed Troop Costs
D Irregular Unit with Mixed Troop Coots
E Mixed Troop costs with a General

These programs work best when the calculator is on User Mode.

For programs A & B enter the number of figures and the cost of each figure then press A or B and you'll got the cost of the unit with organization costs. If there is a general with the unit figure the unit not counting the general's figure and then use Program B and add the cost of the general and any banners less 25 pts to the result.

For Program C and D, do the same as for A and B with the troop type then when the result comes up enter the cost and quantity of the other troop type and press R/S and you'll get the cost of the unit.

For Program E do the same as for Programs C & D only when the second result comes up enter the cost of the general and any banners and press R/S again to got the result.

A running total can be kept by leaving the results in the calculator then adding each unit cost to the running total.
