On March 19 & 20 the Historical Connection once more linked with Simcon at the University of Rochester As in other years the Historical Connection was presented on the 4th floor Bridge Lounge and the 5th floor Music Rehearsal Room. Unlike other years though these facilities began to be stretched to their limit due to attendance and the organizer has begun discussions with the U of R's club about expanding the area to be used for next year's link. The variety of events which had been scheduled and which though unscheduled were held generally matched the variety of interests of the people in attendance. The ever-present WRG Tournaments drew more than 20 players who though be sequestered on the 5th floor for most of Saturday made their presence known on Sunday on the Bridge Lounge with a large historical matchup between Romans and Alexandrian Successors. The main gaming area on the Bridge Lounge was active all day Saturday and Sunday with demo games. Skirmishing in the Vietnam period held the interest of 10-12 players both Saturday morning and Sunday morning. Afterwards on Sunday some of those skirmishers were seen going at it again in medieval Japan. American Civil War games was scheduled for both mornings and the game host apparently unable to contain his enthusiasm, (or being a glutton for punishment) put together a third game on Saturday night. At any one point in time there were at least 8 players involved in these games with a whopping 13 players in Sunday's game. Meanwhile the "naval" end of the Civil War was played using 1200 scale ironclads and simple rules that provided alot of enjoyment and a few chuckles to boot.
