The light at the end of the tunnel! The Foundry edition of Medieval Warfare will soon be a reality. Plans are for two 64-page sections with a 16-page full color center. After so many years, seeing the actual finished product will be something. Another change also is going to be taking place. After a 30 years hiatus, I will be returning to teaching, this time at a local college. One of my professors from graduate school put the college in touch with me to see if I would be interested in working on a couple of Western Civilization survey courses. Why not? The last time I taught 7th and 8th graders…. I have a lot of work to do to get ready for the semester starting in mid-January. The internet is a great source of additional material, however and will be a good supplement to the text. I will be taking more of a military tact with my courses than is usual at the college, but the department has no problems with this, so this will be fun. Needless to say, this will curtail a lot of my writing time. So more than ever, I'll need input from you the SAGA readers. Articles, reports, anything works. Email it to me or send me a scan-able hard copy. Either way works. SAGA Publishing will cease to be a business and will once again be a hobby for me. Not that this means anything will change. Only that I won’t feel so responsible for publishing deadlines. This is a very hard business to break into successfully. The resources simply were not there for me. Stepping back and taking a breather has allowed me to realize that I simply do not have the capabilities of the larger publishers. Publications will continue as before, with a couple of notable exceptions. MW will no longer be available. The Foundry edition will be the next one you see. RW is also temporarily out of print as Jeff is working on another edition. We will let you know when it is once more available. Until next issue, then….
