Editorial

by Terry Gore

This is the 'new look' of SAGA. Thanks to the editing wonders of Microsoft Publisher 2000, I hope to make SAGA more than worth the price of your subscription in the future. Those of you who only receive the electronic version via MAGWEB, might want to consider subscribing as we will be including photos, pictures (like that of your kindly editor to the right) and maps that cannot be electronically replicated easily on Magweb.

What else is new? Plenty. We are currently at work on our Medieval Warfare Fast Play rules that will be published as a complement the main rules set once they are released. Bruce and I also have printed up the current Foundry edit of our Ancient Warfare rules. These have been out of print and unavailable for the last several months, but they have been updated to include the latest rules additions, clarifications and changes.

The Foundry version of Medieval Warfare is now in production! Artwork and photos are being assembled to make the rules look terrific...hey, they already are well-written, right? I'm very excited about finally getting this project close to the finish line. Hopefully, barring some unforeseen holdups, the rules will be available by Historicon this July with Ancient Warfare the next ones due out.

Please take a moment to send in your renewal if it is due (a notice is enclosed with this issue if your subscription has run out). Costs have continually been rising and I am no longer able to afford to send SAGA overseas. Because of this, Caliver has taken over that part of my distribution. Please contact Dave Ryan at Caliver to subscribe if overseas.

Well, that about sums up this issue's editorial. Now it's time to plan ahead for Historicon!

Watch for the Medieval Warfare Scenario booklets, coming soon.

These will feature the Arthurian Wars by Mark Bloom; the Wars of the Byzantine Empire by Perry Gray; The Wars of the Feudal Ages by Terry Gore and the Wars of the Roses by Jeff Ball and Terry Gore. All of these titles will be available from SAGA publishing and we hope to have them ready by next Fall.
