Received for review a pack of Essex BRO32, Western and Central Europe 1650-1745 Hussars. This pack of three mounted figures are rather barbaric in look with long hair and mustaches. They are fairly generic, each figure with a pelise and with a raised sword. The figures stand 25mm in height from the horse's hooves to the rider's eyes. They are on the slim side, but the horse/rider size ratio is very good, something one does not always see in 15mm. The riders are cast separately and must be glued onto the horses. Each rider has a good amount of detail and each head is positioned differently for variety, a nice touch. They are well animated, with expressive facial features. The horses themselves consist of two charging animals and one moving at the canter. All have horse blankets and a blanket roll. These figures remind me very much of the TTG figures in both size and style. They are very nicely done and are recommended for this scale in this period . Priced at the Essex catalog price of CC, they are available through Johnson Hood at Wargames, Ltd., Box 278, Triadelphia, WV 26059.
