How the AW and MW Army Lists
Were Developed

By Terry Gore

I am often asked how we actually came about researching, developing and writing our army lists for our rules. Here is a brief answer.

The army lists initially were researched using:

    1) My own research from work on my book and various articles I'd written for a number of publications.

    2) Existing army lists, including DBM, WRG 6th, Spearpoint revised WRG 7th lists, ARMATI, MoA and various other extent rules lists.

    3) Osprey and Montfert publications.

    4) WRG Armies and Enemies books and other WRG publications.

    5) Individual submissions from knowledgable historian/wargamers with specific insight into certain armies.

    6) and a certain amount of educated guesswork.

All in all, five years were spent in researching the various AW/MW army lists, and as you can see the work still continues.
