Medieval Warfare Errata

On page 14, under Orders Phase, add a bullet before the "Each general" bullet: Any unit not involved in a Close Combat may now make a 'free' 180 degree turn.

The new optional troop type 'Warbands' count as Fanatics up to an including the first round of Close Combat, then as Warriors thereafter. European Longbowmen may not have axes. They cost 1 point less/stand.

Page 30 at the top under the three instances for Supported, change "Friendly unit" to "Friendly stand".

Page 31. Add a bullet after line 13: Receives a Low on Missiles d10 score while firing an Arrow Barrage, they are If a unit Out of Missiles. Add a bullet before "Archers that Fire an Arrow Barrage…"

Troops armed with the new Various weapons factor may fire only once before becoming Low on Missiles.

On the Combat Weapons Table, add: Various 0/+1 0/+1 1 1/2

The army lists for MW will be revised to make them compatible with each other insofar as congruity and continuity go. Obvious changes are to allow Sicilian Hohenstauffen "Norman" knights the ability to wedge (what, we forgot how to fight here in Italy and Sicily?) and in the Sicilian Norman list, change Moslem SC from Javelin/shield to Bow, reflecting their actual armament.

Add to Optional Rules:

Signals: Any non-routing general and the CiC can give a simple "Follow me!" signal to any units within his command radius. If electing to do this, no other orders may be issued by that general for that turn. The general electing to give the signal must be in the front rank of his army and not involved in a close combat.

Here is how it works. During the Orders Phase, place an order marker behind the general's stand. The order can be to Charge, Advance or Retreat. During the Tactical Movement Phase, the player with initiative declares that his general is giving a signal.

The order marker is flipped over and all other friendly units within command radius of the signalling general without other orders must follow the general, unless it is impossible for them to do so (moved already during Strategic Movement, facing the wrong way, in retreat or routing).

This pretty much replicates the reality of the situation where the general wants to either keep all his men moving, wants to 'release the legions' or simply wants to head to the rear as quickly as possible, with his command as intact as it can be, following him.
