Now that the holiday season is upon us, it's time reflect on this past year. There seems to be a groundswell of enthusiasm for new gaming systems. Chris Parker's Day of Battle and my own Medieval Warfare have sparked a bit of interest in some gamers who have been out of active wargaming for some time. Combine this with the continued inroads being made by Phil Viverito's Hack rules and Arty Conliffe's success with ARMATI, not to mention DBM and DBA, and there are enough different rules out there to please just about everyone. At this time, I have decided to take Bryan Ansell's offer and turn over publication, distribution and marketing of Medieval Warfare to The Foundry. This decision takes a lot of the aggravation from my shoulders and will allow the rules to be presented in a much more attractive and expansive way than I could afford to do with SAGA's very limited resources. They will remain the same system, with a broader introduction, more examples of play and explanatory text as well as army descriptions for each of the army lists. Bryan is in the process of editing the current version at this time. For those of you who are interested in obtaining a "first edition" signed by yours truly (what a great gift idea!) I still have twenty or so copies of MW left from my initial print run for $20.00 each, postage paid. In conjunction with this, Bruce Taylor and I, along with help from Gary Comardo, are continuing wotk on Ancient Warfare, using the same basic gaming system with period specific adapatations, a larger figure to man ratio and different orders to catch the all important flavor of warfare in the earlier centuries of Greco-Roman history. You will find in the center of this issue an errata sheet for MW. This has clarifications and a couple of important changes based upon your letters, e-mail and phone calls which make the game even better to play. Happy holidays to all!
