Books and Tournaments

by Terry Gore

The book project is progressing well with the final two chapters going into thecomputer. I'm still up in the air on it, as Presidio Press has put it in thehands of the marketing department to determine how best to present the book. When I get the contract, I'll be quite busy for the next few weeks!

There has been some concern on the part of a few SAGA subscribers that I've been putting down DBM gamers. If that is the impression, it's not true. Thanks to DBM, there has been a large number of articles and a renewed interest in the period. ...both very positive things. I do not like the fact that many gamers who did not care for WRG 7th in the first place have joined the DBM bandwagon and are calling for their use at all major tournaments and that WRG 7th should be officially pronounced dead.

There is room for plenty of tournaments--DBM, DBA, 7th, Armati, etc at all miniature cons. Why do we hove to promote only one set of rules? I strongly support efforts to include a multitude of rules the major conventions. I trust WRG 7th will continue to be one of them, and what with forty or so of us at Historicon playing in the 15mm 7th tourney, it to safe to say that they are not dead.

If anyone has a set of John Julitis Norwich's books on Norman Italy for sale, let me know. I have gotten them out of the library before, but would like to own copies. Perry ... want to sell me yours? Until next time...
