If the Rochester winter ever lets go, I'll be able to go outside and do some work... painting (figures), building (terrain pieces), writing (battle reports and army lists) ... always more enjoyable at my patio table with a warm breeze and the sounds of the NY Yankees' beating the hell out of the Cleveland Indians (sorry Jim Kasper!). Fortunately, the winter was long enough to allow me to get my 25mm Italo-Norman army painted, based and flocked. Good thing, since these stalwart warriors will be dealing with the forces of such luminaries as Craig Tyrrell, Paul Georgian, Jamie Fish and Chris Damour at Lancaster, PA this summer. Yes, HISTORICON 93 is only three months away. The best part of the summer besides vacation, cleaning the yard and filling in an aging in-ground pool -- is the annual get-together with so many friends. Hopefully, we can talk Jamie into putting on another of his mammoth multi-player games again this year (how's this for pressure tactics!) Expansion This year I am going to try to dramatically expand SAGA's subscription base. This will enable me to provide a more professionally produced journal. I would like to upsize SAGA to standard magazine size (physically), while still maintaining a 48+ page length. IF I can double the subscriptions this year, there is no reason that this goal can not be achieved. It would also perhaps attract a wider advertising clientele. For the above reasons, I have come up with a challenge (not original, of course); for each new subscriber to SAGA that you recruit, I will add another issue to your subscription. simply have the new subscibers note on their check or money order who "suggested" they subscribe. The ANGLO-SCOTS booklet from Pallas Armata is available. The price is $10.00 postpaid. I also still have ten or so copies of SHIELDBEARER. Same price, postpaid. One last item: I am looking for a figure/rules/game reviewer. This position gets the usual prestigious title (Asst. Editor) and a free subscription. The successful candidate should have accessability to a wide variety of products. Any takers?
