Well, I have pondered enough in this issue about what might have and did influence warfare in the 18th Century. It is all good fodder for the brain even if you disagree with my words. The main point to take away from this issue is that there are many ways to render knowledge into principles and formulae upon which to base gaming rules. What is used is dependent on what the writer believes to be important. This may be worthy of discussion in designer notes or an introductory statement. For some it may be as simple as a scientific wild-ass guess (SWAG); based in part on fact and the rest on opinion. The next issue will be packed with information collated during my historical tour during November and December. I shall be adding lots of pictures of each location to the text to create a series of battlefield reports. There will be some writing on the books, pamphlets and other things that I pick up along the way. Expect more information about battlefield guidebooks.
