Another Historicon has ended and it was fun. Most of my time was spent in the Saga room (Limerock Room) of the Lancaster Host facilities, which is not surprising since I was involved in several of the demonstration games, either as a game master or observer. I also spent some time touring the various rooms to see what else was being played and, of course, the dealers’ area many times. I spoke to several of the dealers that I know and some new faces, plus several chats with Russ Lockwood of MagWeb.com (got to plug one of the major distributors of Saga newsletters!). Most of the photographs illustrating this issue were shot by my “staff photographer”, Tom Storey, who spent much of his time walking through the various rooms looking for interesting subjects. Tom always makes sure that there are enough convention shots for Sabretache. The Foundry announced that it will be hosting the first MW tournament on 20 September prior to its release of MW (billed as the Foundry’s first set of rules). This is good news for all of the Saga staff as The Foundry has selected several of our rulebooks for publica-tion as official Foundry rules. With its larger organisation and distributorship, The Foundry will certainly increase the circulation of Saga publications. It is timely as Saga has lots of current and planned projects, and needs some support so as to take the financial burdens from its staff’s shoulders. Terry confirmed that sales at Historicon paid most of the basic publication costs and left us a bit of capital to finance further print runs.
