The aim of this regular section is to provide information on the products available to wargamers and re-enactors. Readers are encouraged to submit information about anything about such products in future issues. For the first instalment, we tried a slightly different approach to reviewing products. Mark Anderson of the Bytown Barbarians proposed this idea. He suggested the use of a panel of reviewers rather than one opinion per reviewed item or group of items. This has the advantage of presenting the opinion of a group, who have met to discuss the merits of the reviewed items. Their opinions are then tabulated on a simple table, which shows the main criteria for each review and how each person ranked the items. The criteria were: Scale Detail Appearance Animation Cleanliness of casting (i.e. no flash) How they look when painted Ratings were given as numbers ranging from one to five as follow:
The final opinion was based on the average of each criterion. The reviewers were then asked if they would buy or not buy the item. In the next issue, I shall provide ratings for a selection of Old Glory 15mm Later 19th Century European figures.
