1. Last month's REVIEW carried a full page advertisement for the March (this month's) HMGS convention. The dates I published were March 3, 4 and 5. The actual dates of the convention are March 1, 2 and 3. I'm only human. 2. HMGS is working with ORIGINS '85, coordinating the miniatures events for that fine affair. 3. While PW is not exactly making a killing on sales of its Seven Years War 30mm figures, the revenue is steady and continuously coming in. There are 2 figures: one marching with musket on left shoulder, the other advancing with musket to the front. The heads, capped with tricornes, are detached and must be epoxied in place. The figures, Fred Haub FUSILIER conversions, are, in a word, superb. The cost is 50 cents per figure plus postage. A very rough estimate for shipping costs is about $1 per 12 figures. To order, send to: 4. Hal Thinglum, who publishes the Midwest Wargame Association Newsletter (MWAN), and I have spoken recently of putting out a joint publication, i.e., combining MWAN and the REVIEW, to ease the burdens involved in our respective one-man efforts. On the surface, I think this is a sooper idea, both from the publishers' and the readers' viewpoints. Beneath, however, all is not as calm as may be. Hal resides in Illinois, I in Maryland. Hal uses his own mimeo to reproduce his magazine, I "borrow" a xerox machine. At present, our mailing lists are not large enough to warrant having a print shop run off our issues; a combined magazine, however, might force us to do so ... and up goes the cost of a subscription ... partially offset, of course, by an increase in the size of each issue. I suggested that, perhaps towards the end of this year, or around the beginning of the next, we publish a joint "trial" issue; this would unveil most of the problems to be faced. All of you out there in readership land... any thoughts??
