by George Jeffrey
EDITOR'S NOTE: I must admit to a mistake. In the February REVIEW, I misquoted George Jeffrey in the article pertaining to the concepts behind CODE NAPOLEON, George's Napoleonic rules system. George has issued a reprimand, and writes:
I hope I can clear up any misunderstandings in that direction before they crop up. I admit to constantly quoting Jim, Scotty and EMPIRE III in my discussions of simulation theory. That, however, is a mark of my respect for those guys and their products. In my opinion, they have set the standard against which we all must measure our contributions to the hobby. So, if I quote them and EMPIRE III, it's because I want my own thinking looked at in comparison with the yardstick they have laid down. EDITOR'S NOTE: First, Paul Koch shouts "The Jackel of Ostlandi!" Then it's George Jeffrey with "Cock o' the North!" Will people never stop villifying the good name of the Lion of Ostlandi? So what if I flub up now and then? So what if I break up long- lasting friendships, destroy marriages, cause brothers and sisters to part forever, partners to fly at one anothers' throats, friendly nations to declare war on each other? Don't we all make mistakes? I don't get no respect.
