As the Piquet system grows in popularity and as Piquet supplements and scenario books proliferate, the time has come for the Piquet Digest Quarterly to grow as well. This is the first issue of the PDQ in the new 108-page digest format. My first responsibility, as the new editor, is to extend a big "Thank You" to Jim Getz on behalf of all the Piqueteers for his hard work on the debut issues of the Piquet Digest. It's much easier to take over the helm of a ship than to construct and launch one ... thank you Jim for getting us going! As the PDQ continues to grow and develop, we expect to start including a variety of new topics and formats, including (but not limited to):
Battle Reports (with photos!) House Rules Heretics Corner (Opinions & Variants) Rules Q& A The Philosophy of Piquet: Notes from the Designer (GP Bob Jones) Future Releases Reader Feedback Interviews Painting Guides, Terrain Design, and Basing Schemes Articles on Military History Piquet Errata and Addendums (new army pre ferred formations, CDT's, etc....) Convention Reports Retailer Listings (where to get Piquet!) Figure Reviews Martini Recipes Recommended Cigars & Pipe Tobaccos Restaurant reviews near Lancaster, Gettysburg, and other convention sites Advertisements (where to get MORE great stuff that you have to paint!)) I hope that you enjoy this first issue in the new digest format. Most of all, please feel free to send me your comments and suggestions, and of course, to contact me with your ideas for submission to the PDQ! I can be reached via e-mail at rchellis@mindspring.com, or you can leave a mes sage for me at the offices of Piquet at 607-785-5486.
