MY TOP TWENTY

by Alan Sharif

These are my top twenty in period order. Personally, I enjoy games that are not too complex, are operational in scale and are reasonably mobile. I also enjoy games on individual battles rather than campaigns. I am aware that some of these games, if not all, are inaccurate in some way. For example, in Yom Kippur the Israeli artillery seems far too powerful. Forward To Richmond needs some simple command control rules added. Nonetheless, these are games to which I come back again and again.

.Forward to Richmond (3W)
.Across Five Aprils (VG)
.Lee's Greatest Gamble (XTR)
.Lawrence of Arabia (3W)
.The Kaiser's Battle (SPI)
.Belleau Wood (HA)
.Red Star/White Eagle (GDW)
.Decision at Kasserine (3W)
.Battle of the Ardennes (SPI)
.Moscow 1941 (TSR)
.Red Army (GDW)
.Stalingrad Pocket (TG)
.Ring of Fire (MiH)
.Blitzkreig in the South (3W)
.Bitter End (HJ)
.Panzergruppe Guderian (SPI)
.Defiance (SGP)
.Operation Shock Troop (DG)
.Yom Kippur (TG)
.Hue (SDC)
