Conventions 2004

Kansas City Area

by Kenneth Van Pelt

There are some really strong conventions firing up the gaming scene in the metro area of Kansas City and immediate vicinity. The Fort Leavenworth games occur annually. I will post a date for the February show as soon as I get the chance and the Lee’s Summit School District NO. 7 has formed a strategic gaming club that will host two conventions a year. This is right in our back yard. We have participated twice as a club and the venue and crowd is fantastic. Our first year we took the 54mm Russian front WWII game “Mamyev Kurgan” and the N scale Vietnam game, “N” Country”. The second event we attended we ran the 1/72 scale dog fight game outdoors, “Dawn Patrol” and the 54mm VBACW game “American CivilWar” with over 400 54mm painted civil war troops. This coming March 27th , 2004 we will host the Warhammer 40K/3.75 game. We will put on a science fiction wargame using the universe and setting of WH40K, but we have a set of house rules that will be easier to manage and a set of 3 & ¾ “ figures that will suffice for Imperial Guard and Orks. This will run only one session of the show.
