The following is a CORP Roleplaying mission specifically written for the Ninja fire team from the Lanard CORP figure line. Mission Format: This is DOJO not YO Joe!!
Mission Briefing: a descriptive text that tells the story for our CORP troops. Hiroyamoto's sword has been stolen by a rival Ninja clan. They are guarding the valuable weapon in their DOJO located in China Town, SF, USA. The Clan patrols the streets and area around their headquarters. Hiroyamoto must retrieve his honor and weapon or die trying. Insertion: Generate a mission checkpoint and begin assignment. If your CORP team can retrieve the weapon from the Ninja fortress it must be done quickly and silently at night. The mission will begin with a rendezvous outside a run down eatery known as Yung Bo's restaurant. The team will each approach separately and meet at 4:00 am. Roll vs. "On Time" TAC S 12. Success puts you inside the resaurant at the precise meeting time. Failure means you were spotted on the street by the patroling enemy ninjas. Fight the three enemy ninjas:
Success puts you at the meeting point one hour later. (5:00am). Approach: CORP team locates the enemy. In the dimly lit interior of Yung Bo's Hiroyamoto plots his revenge and plan. "We have only 4 hours to get inside the DOJO and retreive the sword. After 4 hours the place will be crawling with enemy ninja's arriving for their daily routine. Our success after that will be nil!" Deployment: Ascertain fire team strengths & prepare for firefight. Hiroyamoto takes the team to the basement of Yung Bo's. "Through this tunnel he says", as a secret opening reveals a passage way below the streets of China Town. "This will allow us to get to the DOJO without encountering the guards in the streets!" Roll vs. TAC Skill 14. Success will get you to the neighborhood where the DOJO is located. Each failure will fatigue your character 1 STAM. Negate this by using c-rations and canteen once each. Three failures make the trip through the sewers and passageways take too long 1 hour will pass. If no character fails three times the trip is quick and successful. You enter the alley behind the DOJO through a man-hole cover in the street. Contact: The alley is dark and mysterious. There are lights on inside the DOJO. You will break into the DOJO through a small basement window. TAC vs. 16 to do this stealthily. Success puts you at the stairwell leading to the first floor. Failure means the first floor guards are there to greet you. Fight the guards 1D6 in number: You may move directly to HTH if they were not alerted.
In the heat of battle you notice that the weapon you came for is not on this floor. Fight your way to the second floor any time after round three. Battlefield: This fight will last one hour if it lasts more than five rounds. Second floor Guards join the fight. There are 3 +1D6 second floor guards. They are screaming insults at Hiroyamoto. They taunt him for his weapon!!
The sword must be hidden on the third floor of the DOJO!! Move to this floor any time after three more rounds of combat. Objective 1: The third floor. Inside this room in the center of the floor is a glass case. Under a hellishly green gaseous glow can be seen the gleaming blade of Hiroyamoto. If the CORP team is still embroiled in fighting one member may move to the case and try and get the sword. Roll TAC S vs. 8 to spot a hidden trap of poisonous gas! If spotted the character will not open the case until the fighting is over. If the case is opened hastily it will release a toxic poison gas trap that causes 3D6 to each person in the room (friend and foe). Roll for each person separately. Objective 2: The case can be opened safely under the right conditions. A concentrating CORP character can open the case vs. TAC 12 and not release the gas. Objective 3: Evacuation or rendezvous. When the sword is released from the case you must count your time accrued. If three hours have passed, the morning students are arriving downstairs. That way out will be a fight to get to the streets of China town. 12 Ninja students.
The other choice is to shoot a line across the street to a neighboring building and escape undetected. Shoot the Line vs. TAC 12. Failure means you go out the front door. Success means you use your ninja stealth to zip down the line to safety. TAC vs. 8 or you fall in the street at the feet of the morning ninja class. Debriefing.
