On July 13 the German Luftwaffe hunched a relentless aerial attack against Great Bntain that tasted until the last days of November of that year. Daily poundings by the German bombers and lightning swift attacks by the fighters made life on the British Isle unbearable. The Luftwaffe considered this to be another simple engagement, considering that they had dominated their opponents in France only one month ago. The only item that the Germans failed to count on was the enduring British spirit and resolve. Pilots in the RAF. fought with such heart and intensity that the Luftwaffe had to redesign the role of two of their most reliable aircraft to this point, the Me-110 and Ju-87 Stuka. To run this scenario for FIGHER COMMAND, you will need a game area of roughly 10 feet by 30 feet. The layout at right gives you a general sketch of the battleground. The boundaries marked with numbers are the entry points for the RA.F. British pilots roll 1D6 and refer to the illustration for your exact entry point. German pilots come in on the boundary marked with an "A". Between the Dover Cliffs and the Luftwaffe border lies the English Channel. Any plane that hits this area after being shot down is lost. British pilots that are shot down, but make it off their original entry point are considered to survive, the same holds true for the German pilots. This game is very evenly matched and works well with at least three phnes per side. You will need models of the Messerschmitt Me-109E and the Supermarine Spitfire Mk 1a. The German phyers always move first on the initial turn, after which phay resumes as nonnal. If a German pilot can fly across the game area three times, then he has made it to London and he receives a major victory. British pilots receive a major victory if they shoot down all Gennan pilots before the reach London.
