Air and Flights

Editorial

By Ken Van Pelt

Hello, and Happy New Year! 1997 promises to be an exciting year for the Penny Whistle newsletter. With a little planning and forethought this journal's editorial staff has decided to create a theme year featuring air combat games. Summer of 1997 will see the release of Fighter Command air combat system.

This 1/72 scale air combat game focuses on World War Two. In support of this venture we have decided to devote the pages of this journal's fourth year to Air Combat games. Each of this year's six issues will feature Lion's Den air to air combat scenarios, rules and game mechanics. '97 is the year of proactive hobby journalism as opposed to recording what has happened we have laid the groundwork for all six issues as I write.

To get this year's theme off the ground we will feature a reprint of Gnatz 1/700th scale aircraft rules. Although the bulk of this is the same as in issue 25, there are new aircraft data and a sample of the Lion's Den aircraft data playsheet. "Flight 28 you are clear for takeoff."
