Meeting

Finnie and Flippie flew to Tato as the newcomer, obviously also a Fairie, hovered excitedly on his Tzae in front of Rollvag. Keri had an astonished look on her face. Kuros appeared to be overjoyed at the sight of him. Speaking as if to a king, Rollvag addressed him.

“Kind Sir, your help and timely appearance in this battle is greatly appreciated. You three probably saved all of our lives.” At that, Rollvag removed his hat and bowed humbly, (as well as one can from horseback). “We are at you service.” The entire War Band removed their hats and bowed their heads.

“Enough, enough!” cried the newcomer. “I am no angel or king and I am hamanoin just as you! I am called Fyli in your language.” And then more quietly: “These two are my sisters. True and true enough, I am here to help all of you. Please, please...”

Rollvag looked up immediately and said: “Well then, you are welcome to stay with us as long as you wish.”

“Thank you, I will!” said Fyli simply.

With a flourish, the War Band replaced their hats. Rollvag barked orders: “Ghosts, adventurers, elves; form columns orderly. Everyone travel to the ruins on the trail two abreast. Elves, though I can not speak for you, fall in around and behind the War Band. All travel at a walking pace to allow for both Kanokai ahead and elves behind!” Then quietly: “Neetah, stay here with me while we have a look around.”

Neetah smiled and answered, “Yes, my General.”

Rollvag noticed that Vilef was missing. Looking towards Elkin, Rollvag asked him. “Where is Vilef?”

Elkin answered him directly: “Vilef is a healer, and he left a few minutes ago to go help the Kanokai.”

Rollvag smiled broadly and, as he had finally begun to learn when something Elkin did or say surprised him, held back his reply...
