Chapter 4 Turn 8

Tato Learns of Family

by Abram Paradies

"Elkin, how will we fly to the dam without being seen?"

"I have within my staff the ability to distort the energy field around us. We will be essentially invisible."

"Where are my relatives?"

"Your mother is the Koriki warrior princess. She and her guard fled out onto the Plain of Deep Grass, her homeland. Your father is the Torontair Elyithel. He was locked away in a tower of the Dondor Palace by the Usurper, who claimed that the new regime has "...no use for a King" and that he was insane anyway. Really though, his "Insanity" is the result of the sorcery of the Dolo Sect. The Torontair was found missing three weeks ago and is presumed dead. I am sorry son..."

Tato lowered his head as tears filled his eyes: "I am crying for a man I never met..." Then somberly: "What about my sister?"

"Your sister, Princess Elyithel, thinks she is adopted. She is right now, I hope, on her way into the Uriah Plain to help form an Army to fight the falling away. With any blessing, you should have a tough bunch of Horsemen to help pin Toridar from the North. Also, I urge you not to try and reach her until the Kanoki are safe."

"What is Galahad doing?"

"Galahad is your uncle. Let me be clear, Tato. Each person in Dondor was given a choice: To serve the Charge Supreme and live in Fascism or to trust in the True Lord's promise that a Torontair will arise and thereby cause them to leave Dondor. Some have left for good. Galahad is gathering what support he can muster. I suspect that now he is with the North Mountain Dwarves. All the Nobility of all the races will soon seek to aid you."

"Elkin, how will all this be managed?"

"Trust the True Lord, be patient, and make good decisions: Then it will all unfold."
