Napoleonic Talks

by Kevin Zucker

Mr. Zucker's War College Seminar Schedule for 2004.

Thursday, 14.00: Napoleonic Operations from Castiglione to Waterloo
Friday, 10.00: The Struggle of Nations: The 1813 Campaign
Saturday, 14.00: Seven Days of 1809: The Abensberg/Eckmühl Campaign

Location: Seminar Room #1 - E160A
Format: 60-90 minute presentations each followed by 30+ minutes of Q&A.

On Thursday the talk will center around the long article in Wargame Design nr. 7. This is an attempt to provide an overview of all aspects of Napoleonic Operations, a discussion of all the considerations of leading an army during the Napoleonic Wars. The Friday seminar will look at how that is turned into a game. The game will be in play that weekend at the war room as a demonstration. On Saturday we will talk about the Abensberg Eckmühl campaign, the subject of OSG's new release, Seven Days of 1809. We will have at least printed components if not complete games on hand.

There will be a full schedule of seminars in both seminar rooms running from 8 am to midnight Thursday through Saturday, and an abbreviated schedule on Sunday.
