It would be great to see another 100 orders before publication. The above link shows the _official_ tally as of 26 October and excludes duplicate orders, etc. If you are not listed there, you can still get the game at 20%-off. If you have moved recently, please enter your new address in the Customer Account area at Napoleongames.com, otherwise your game will be delayed. Sun of Austerlitz, in the Campaigns of Napoleon Series 1X (2 mi/hex, 2 days/turn, 1,000 men/SP) will retail for $44. Printing prices and Postal rates have gone up, necessitating an increase in prices all along the line. If you have already ordered a title, the pre-pub price you signed-on for will be honored. Your SuA Charge As we complete graphic production, we have begun to charge cards for the Sun of Austerlitz. You may have received a special email notice with the date of the charge. Please follow this link to see the status of your SuA order (file updated on 23 October 02) and the date we charged your card: http://www.napoleongames.com/soarelease/soapreorder.cfm The merchant name on your charge statement will say 'Thunderheart Drums,' but be assured this charge is for your OSG games. We sent out notices regarding old expired cards. If you received a message with the subject "Processing Your Sun of Austerlitz Order" _OR_ if your order is designated on the above page as "BAD CARD," please get in touch with us so that we can process your order. The Sun of Austerlitz rules are all but finalized (the current version of the rules is 2.8). Joe Youst is finishing up corrections on the map and counters and Mark Hinkle of New England Simulations is finishing the Leader and Unit Manifests, the Organization Displays and the Game Box. We expect to assemble and begin shipping the games in about 40 days now that we have the completed map in our hands. A sample of part of the map is available to view at http://www.napoleongames.com/soarelease/largemap.htm The full map is 22" x 34" and will include photoshop textures for towns and other terrain. The current draft of the Exclusive Rules can be viewed at http://www.Napoleongames.com/excl_2.71.pdf Please also read the Historical Notes for this game at http://www.Napoleongames.com/hist._notes.pdf Other components, such as the Organization Displays and set-up manifests, will be posted at the same location this week. At the moment we are checking the SuA map proof which Joe delivered yesterday. We are checking the town names against a document containing the old German town names for Czech towns, which were generally the names in use at the time of the campaign. We also have from Joe a first proof of the counters (just names and values at this stage). While we have been waiting for Joe we have continued to research the early stages of the campaign, which are skipped over except in Austrian accounts. The results of these researches will be presented in Wargame Design No. 7 (which our new editor Mike Welker is putting together). This issue will be published first of all at our website but will be accessible only to those who have current subscriptions. The Sun of Austerlitz continues the Campaigns of Napoleon Series, including: Napoleon at Bay ... Bonaparte in Italy ... Struggle of Nations ... 1809, Victory on the Danube ... The Emperor Returns ... 1807, The Eagle Turns East. The Sun of Austerlitz is the first completely new game in the 1X series (2 mi./hex, 2 days/turn, 1,000 men/SP) in seven years, since '1807' was published (new editions of BiI and NaB have been published in the meantime) AND the FIRST game to cover the Austerlitz _campaign_ from the fall of Vienna to Hollabrunn, Wischau and Austerlitz. So far, it looks good! The situation will get tricky politically for both sides. For the French, there's the situation with Prussia possibly intervening. For the Coalition, its the Emperors pushing for resolution sooner rather than later since the Coalition eventually did move to attack, their odds ought to be a bit higher. I do like the situation where neither side knows if/whether Prussia will intervene since neither side can just wait for the intervention.
