About OSG and Products

by Kevin Zucker

In the last 18 months some 200 gamers have pre-ordered Napoleon's Game. In December we mailed flyers announcing the game's imminent publication to our domestic corelist, but orders didn't increase significantly toward our goal of 250. One reason could be the simultaneous announcement by GMT of their similar game. We have to accept that GMT is much larger than OSG and has the track record with card-driven designs. The lack of a flurry of orders from our last flyer led us to remove Napoleon's game from our production schedule. Hopefully we heard you correctly.

The Sun of Austerlitz, at 210 pre-orders, is closing-in on the 250 needed for publication and will become our next game. The Sun of Austerlitz is an exciting, straightforward design. The armies are small and manageable. Joe Youst has had the map for some time. This is the first game on the Austerlitz campaign, with scenarios starting from mid-November. You are invited to pre-order The Sun of Austerlitz at 25%-off the retail price.

OSG is quietly building an audience based on our track record of solid, thoughtful, elegantly realized games.

We would like to thank everyone who pre-ordered Napoleon's Game. We will re-evaluate the demand for the game after the summer of 2002.
