Q) From: Peter Landry Two friends and I Just finished a 3 player game of LGE. We had a blast!
I've played Empire in Arms three times and there is no comparison in my
humble opinion. LGE to me has the feel of the period to a 'T' while
EIA I think doesn't come close. I can't get enough of this game! Thanks
for all the great fun!
I have a few questions on LGE.
Q) Why doesn't the 6.1 build cost chart have a row for the cost of one infantry division @ $2?
Q) Do NPCs get to roll on the random events table? If not in a 7 player game there would be 7 rolls per season while in a 3 player game only 3 rolls. Seems there should be rolls for all major powers to us. We played with only player countries rolling.
Q) In the 1805 scenario are England and France considered at war? Or Austria and Russia also?
Q) What happens when on approach to battle both opposing sides with multinational/allied armies roll for operational Edge? Do neither receive it or does the battle get split into smaller battles?
Q) We had a few exceptionally unique events. One where Naples went into
revolt. In the meantime, France had her hands full with England, Spain,
Prussia and Austria! (Russia was random evented into peace while
England made lots of allies! Russia failed every attempt to make or
break an alliance with a NPC!) The next year another random event, again
Naples revolted! We removed her ghost divisions and gave her her short
lived independence back.
4.74 Peace Party
When a peace party event is rolled, the affected nation will suffer penalties
until the event is "resolved." If unresolved during a Winter turn, the
affected player will lose 2d10 gold for that year, plus 5 victory points (due
to internal chaos, unrest, draconian measures to maintain control against
opposition, etc...) This continues, every Winter, until the event is
resolved.
Resolution
1. Permenant Resolution: The peace party event ends permenantly (or until
it's rolled again on the event table) by being at peace for one entire
campaign season.
2. Temporary Resolution: If any of the following occur prior to a Winter
turn, the penalties outlined above do not occur. However, the peace party
event remains in affect for subsequent winter turns (until permenantly
resolved).
