Essig Sells Company to MMP: Impact on OSG You all have probably heard of the sale of The Gamers, publishers of very serious simulations. We were asked whether this event will affect OSG. In the short run, the sale of The Gamers will not affect OSG. Sandi has opened a new outfit called HomerGamers, and she will continue to sell OSG and other Consortium games. We wish Sandi every success! Dean cited the huge task of running a business and the concomitant reduction in design hours. We experience this problem too! However, we don't want to farm-out the most critical piece, game design and development. That is what I should be focusing on, instead of having my head in a computer all day. Instead our direction: delegate all non-game work! Guillaume Bertrand has taken over as OSG's talented webpage guru. Paul Denhup is our able Marketing Director. Mark Owens tackles all the thorny and difficult game questions on the Campaigns of Napoleon, and Chris Moeller and Dan Raspler do the same for La Guerre de l'Empereur (the sales of which are increasing). They are editing a revised 4th printing of the 2nd Edition Rules now; you have read their updates here already. A dozen playtesters and editors made contributions to Highway to the Kremlin which are so much in evidence, and of course, we got outstanding service from our graphic artists Joe Youst and Masahiro Yamazaki. Do you have business administration or marketing skills that you can lend to OSG? There are a variety of ways you can participate. Choose your own level of committment:

VAE VICTIS REVIEW
"The map of Highway to the Kremlin created by Joe Youst is, in a word,
magnificent. The symbology, temperate and varied, depicts perfectly the
immensity of the Russian plains, forests (rare enough) and marshes that
punctuate them." Read the full review of Highway to the Kremlin, appearing
in the current issue of Vae Victis (No. 40), in English translation, at ...

SHIPPING PROGRESS
We are STILL shipping pre-orders - have about 42 to go - along with store
orders (35 stores shipped since the beginning of Sept.). You can now check
the following page to see whether and when your HtK was shipped.

I apologise for the extreme tardiness of our operations. This is the first
new released since we began our own warehousing. We have to rotate tasks,
and cannot spend too much time on any one activity, in order to insure a
healthy cash flow. We must answer game questions, call stores, and ship
games to distributors. We have so far shipped 798 copies of HtK, to
individuals, stores and distributors.
UP NEXT
WARGAME DESIGN Nr. 6 is next up as soon as we clear up the back long of
orders. Hopefully we'll be printing WDM in two weeks, and get it in the
mail within 3 weeks~!
NAPOLEON'S GAME:
Our next game will be Napoleon's Game. Joe has begun work on the map which
he promises will be in the tradition of Highway to the Kremlin.
