Peace Party (new section: 4.74) When a Peace Party event is rolled, the affected nation may opt to suffer penalties instead of surrendering. During each Winter turn, lose 2d10 gold and 5 Victory Points (due to internal unrest and draconian measures to surpress the opposition). These penalties apply every Winter until peace is sustained by the player for one combat season. Comment: The point is to force the nationi with a Peace Party result to end hostilities one way or another ... either they surrender to everybody, or they reach a negotiated settlement. Exception: If any of the following occur, the penalties outlined above do not apply for the current year, but will still apply in subsequent Winter turns.
b) major victory (5+ corps destroyed in one battle) including victories achieved in the same year as the Peace Party event, prior to the ensuing Winter turn. c) defeat of a large enemy fleet (2+ fleets destroyed in one battle) Back to OSG News July 2001 Table of Contents Back to OSG News List of Issues Back to Master Magazine List © Copyright 2001 by Operational Studies Group This article appears in MagWeb (Magazine Web) on the Internet World Wide Web.
