Highway to the Kremlin

by Kevin Zucker

Joe shipped the disk containing the box and counter art to the printer and he received it yesterday. I will look at proofs this week. The maps are I believe en route. All three items are to be printed next week (7 May). We can hope for a two-week turn-around on the counters and boxes, which require laminating (week of 21 May). We will begin shipping as soon as we take delivery of the boxes and counters. We intend on shipping WD magazine in the same shipping carton with the games.

If things go according to schedule, you will have your copy of Highway to the Kremlin around the first of June. HtK is the first wargame on this campaign since SPI's '1812,' published over twenty-five years ago. It's a big package, with lots of data; the biggest of Napoleon's Campaigns. The battle scenarios can be played in an evening! And it certainly will be worth the wait!

Assembly: Week of May 21st. If you live in or near Baltimore, get in touch if you can lend a hand with assembly.

At the conclusion of the Russian campaign, Marshal Ney was the last one across the bridge at Tilsit. He fired the last shot, threw his musket into the Niemen, then escaped alone and on foot to Gumbinnen. When he arrived in the town, the former head of Army Administration was about to have coffee in a doctor's home when a man in a ragged coat walked in. He had a long beard, and his face was blackened by smoke and appeared to be burnt. His eyes were red and no one recognised him until he spoke. "Well, here I am at last."

I sort of feel like that.
