Highway to the Kremlin

by Kevin Zucker

"Highway to the Kremlin" is now entering pre-press production, getting the rules in shape, formatting the counter mix, getting everything ready for the artist and then printer. To render this two-map game supremely managable we have scaled-up from the NAB system: Corps, not divisions, are the basic combat unit (5,000, not 1,000 men per Strength Point). Counter density on map will be low. Named Marshals act like Major Generals; Vedettes and March units are division-sized, etc. Hexes are 10 mi. and Turns are 10 days. We are waiting for your pre-order to put this on the press. If you have already ordered it, talk to a friend. Please see page five, below.

We are happy to see how well "Bonaparte in Italy" has been received. I hope everyone has played the game by now. There are many new features, not least of which is the paragraph-index. (We are keeping this feature for HTK.) Please send us some feedback and let us know if we are on the right track. ... I want to thank everyone for subscribing to Wargame Design and apologise for not having that discussion board working, but it is underway!

Understand that the foundation of an army is the belly. It is necessary to procure nourishment for the soldier wherever you assemble him and wherever you wish to lead him. This is the primary duty of a general.
