Checking the University of Illinois football schedule to find and avoid those weekends when there isn't a hotel room for 200 miles, I learned that only one weekend in September did not have a home football game, the weekend right after Labor Day. That won't work ... so for the first time, I'll slide into October (just a bit).

Hotel space will be tight regardless, so get your reservations in now. The Chicago Bears will be spending next season using the UI stadium for the 2002 season (while they fix their stadium up north). We are all betting that they will have a game here even if the UI doesn't, and the Bears have not (as of the time of writing) made next year's schedule available.

No block of rooms can be reserved, so it's first come, first served.
