Some twenty years later, Bonaparte in Italy is back. The scope of the game is a bit different from the 1979 release, the rules are up to the modern standard for Kevin's Operational Napoleonic (a.k.a. Napoleon at Bay) series, and the graphics, by Joe Youst and Masahiro Yamazaki, are state of the art. The buffed-up web presence for OSG, www.napoleongames.com, is also something to see. The organization is clear and sensible, the period graphics set the appropriate tone, and the whole site bears Kevin's historyintensive hallmarks, including historical analyses and a generous selection of Napoleon's maxims. Topping it off, Kevin has been publishing his book The Habit of Victory, on the 1807 Polish campaign, as a serial. A new installment has been going up every day, and it's a strong inducement to connect to the site often. Looking ahead, work on the "Napoleon and Waterloo" CDROM should be well underway, if not complete, by the time you read this. Also, look for the Last Days of the Grande Armee tournament this summer at Origins. Last issue, my editing left Chirstopher Moeller's article giving the impression that the second edition rules for La Guerre de la Empereur were not yet available. They are, and have been for a while. If you have the game, you make sure you have the updated rules. Contact OSG.
