SCS Tournament

Origins '97

by Mike Lochtefeld

Origins '97 marks the second year that The Gamers will be sponsoring an SCS tournament. The tournament will be held on Saturday and winners of each round immediately advance to the next round. Therefore, plan on devoting 12 hours (or more) for the full tournament. You can pre-register for this tournament or purchase a ticket at the Origins ticket booth. Also, if space is available, you can register at The Gamers booth and bring a generic ticket with you.

I am planning on a three- or four-round tournament depending on the number of people who register or purchase tickets. The scenarios for the tournament will be as follows:

Round 1: Yom Kippur - Scenario 4.5 The Israeli Counterattack
Round 2: Stalingrad Pocket II - Scenario 4 The Relief Operation
Round 3: Ardennes - Scenario 5.1 Kampfgruppe Peiper And if we have a four round tournament, the scenario for the final round will be (in honor of the latest SCS game):
Round 4: Afrika - Scenario 4.1 Operation Crusader

As always, please bring copies of the games (except Afrika), so that everyone can participate. I would like to issue a challenge to all of you who enjoy the SCS games to come out and take a stab at becoming the SCS champion. I will be available a half an hour before the tournament to teach anyone the series rules. The SCS champion not only be glorified in Operations, but also receive a $25 gift certificate from The Gamers. Show your support for the series, for The Gamers, and for the industry with your participation in this tournament. See you in Columbus!
