SCS Tournament Planned
for Origins '97

by Mike Lochtefeld

We hope to have the tournament on Saturday. Each round of advancement will take place right after the next one, so people may want to plan on 12 hours for a full tournament. People should be able to pre-register for the tournament, or register at the Origins ticket booth or sign up at the Gamers booth.

The number of scenarios for the tournament will of course depend on the number of participants, but the following are the scenarios I have planned at this time:

Stalingrad Pocket Il: Scenario 4 "The Relief Operation"

Ardennes: Scenario 5.1 "Kampfgruppe Peiper"

Yom Kippur: Scenario 4.5 "The Israeli Counterattack"

Again, these scenarios are not set in stone. The final scenario list will appear in Ops 25. Also, if its a four round tournament, the final round scenario will probably be from Afrika.

There are no rules except to have fun and enjoy the game system. I want to encourage both fans of the SCS as well as gamers who haven't tried the system before. I will probably have a short seminar on the rules of the SCS for any new gamer prior to the start of the tournament.

Last but not least, the winner of the tournament will receive a free game from the Gamers, perhaps even the newest addition to the SCS: Crusader which is planned to be out by Origins. See you in Columbus!
