Black Wednesday and designer Dave Friedrichs were introduced to the public at a wine and hors d'oeuvre reception Friday, August 25th, 1995. The Last Square gallery in Madison, Wisconsin, hosted the event, which was attended by about 35 people. Dave Friedrichs (left), designer of Black Wednesday, and James Meldrum (center), designer of Arracourt, discuss the TCS. Guests were introduced to Dave and had an opportunity to have their copies of Black Wednesday signed (hey, book authors do it all the time). The designer discussed the historical situation and the TCS game system with the guests, and also presented maps and situational overlays for The Gamers' Leros and upcoming Hube's Pocket games.
"The good guys are here, and the bad guys are here, and then they have a big fight, and lots of stuff gets blown up. " Dave explains the historical situation in Hube's Pocket. The Last Square is a military art gallery, book, miniatures, and gaming store where regular Wednesday and Saturday miniatures gaming events are held. "The Last Square was the ideal place to hold the reception," organizer Dan Bartlett told Operations, "because the atmosphere was perfect, and such a cross section of people with differing interests in military history can be found there."
