Omaha 3rd Edition ­

Retrofit

The 3rd Edition TCS rules clean the system up considerably. With a minimal amount of effort, you can use the 3rd edition rules with the first three games in the series. This article will look at how to retrofit Omaha to the 3rd Edition.

Terrain

Movement costs remain the same. The cover types for terrain are:
Type Cover
Open Open
Beach Billiard Table (see the Shingle effect)
Hedgerow Partially Protective
Forest Partially Protective
Red Bldgs Protective
Black Bldgs Partially Protective
The Shingle Open (for direct fire crossing the shingle at targets on the beach, ONLY)
Def Zone Protective (units can can be DUG IN in these hexes as well)

US Airpower Table
Dice Roll Sorties
2-5 None
6-8 1 x A-20
9-10 2x A-20
11-12 4x A-20

Counter and Rules Changes
Pillboxes: Drop all Pillbox Defense values to 4.
LCT(R): Their changes are discussed in series rule 17.8b.
Naval Gunfire: There are 9 EFSs in a Concentrated Pattern; adjust normally.
US Artillery Ammunition: Consider each battery fire an allotment.
US Airpower: An A-20 has a Firepower 36, and Point Attack 8+. See Table above.
Disregard 3.5
3.7: Use Infantry Gun rules in the Series rules.
German Artillery: Consider each battery fire an allotment.
Disregard 4.7
4.2 Battalion Weapons Companies do NOT have company morale
