Letter from the President

Pleased

By Ed Stewart

Dear friends and fellow gamers!

To my great surprise, I find myself elected to serve as President of NOVAG. Our club has grown steadily over the past few years, and while the task of the Board is relatively light, it is important nonetheless. The two positions that require the most work are the Treasurer and the Editor. Both of these positions are, without a doubt, the most important in terms of the future of the club. The people who serve in these capacities deserve a hearty "well done" for their efforts.

One of the premiere miniatures conventions is fast approaching -- Fall In! in Gettysburg. If you have not made reservations at a local hotel, you might want to do so before they're booked up. The Eisenhower Center, site of the convention, is sold out, and the better hotels in Gettysburg are almost sold out. With the location being so close for the majority of our members, many people have planned to visit just for a day, and shop 'til they drop! Miniatures are in great abundance, but the flea market may be the place to find books, rules, RPG, terrain, cards, and many other items we use in our games. Last year, Fall In! was voted a resounding success by everyone I spoke with, and we look forward to many years of great conventions in November!

The recent convention we hosted seemed to please many gamers - there were lots of games of all different types, and the folks I saw playing were enjoying themselves. There seemed to be no shortage of games available for people to participate in, and we saw several new faces running games there. Thanks go out to all the members who provided the gaining entertainment for the rest of us - we certainly appreciate your efforts.

Time to paint some ACW infantry. See you at Fall In!
