If you attended NOVAGCON this year, you already know that we had more games going on then ever before, a nice selection of vendors, and more attendees than in the last 4 years (maybe longer). With more than two hundred paying attendees, this was our most successful event from a attendance standpoint that we have had, though the increased costs prevented us from making a profit. We lost some money, but should make that up with the proceeds from the GAMECON last Spring and this coming one. Due to the cost, we will be cutting back to a 2-day convention again for this Fall's NOVAGCON. The Friday evening gaming this year only brought in a few extra people, but cost us one-third of the overall room expense. Without the cost of Friday, we would have made a few hundred bucks, so we know that we can make these events more successful from a financial standpoint. Let's have everyone turn out this year at both GAMECON and NOVAGCON '98 to help ensure NOVAG's financial health, plus you can have some fun, play some games, and meet your fellow gamers! Here are the "official" results of the Painting Contest at NOVAGCON '97 sponsored by The Gaming Realm. We hope that Tony and all the other folks come back next year and try this again. So start working on your figures for next year, or at least start thinking about it!
