Letter from the President

Novagcon 97

By John McConnell

Hello again NOVAG faithful,

In case you didn't remember, NOVAGCON comes early this year. As I've stated in the past, we've moved it to August. The particular dates are the 15th-17th. If you were at the last GAMECON last April, you already know where it's going to be held at: The Westpark Hotel in Tyson's Corner. There's more information elsewhere in this issue on prices, times, games, the facility and vendors.

Since we're holding this one from Friday through Sunday and for all 24-hours, we'll need even more games then last year, so if you have a game you'd like to host, send it in right away. Remember, as always, if you host an event, you get in for FREE! (That's one person per event.) We're looking for any sort of games: historical, fantasy, or science fiction. And while we mostly are a miniature club, we welcome your board games and role-playing games also. Just remember to make 'em colorful and exciting, because it can be tough competing with all those miniature games with their hundreds of figures and interesting terrain.

We still have vendor tables available, so if you want to purchase a table, they're $40 each for a 2' by 6' table until August 1st. After then, they'll be $50 each. Just have your check to NOVAG postmarked by then to get the lower rate. The tables are yours to use from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening. For members who are not regular vendors, you can use them as fleamarket tables, or split the cost with your buddies.

For those of you going up to HISTORICON, wear your NOVAG shirts (if you have one) with pride! And if you don't have one yet, I'm going to look for another source to order from and hopefully IT be putting an order together before or at NOVAGCON. Let me know via e-mail or regular mail if you're interested.
