Here it is, another NOVAG News, and another letter from me on the state of NOVAG! I hope that all of you got the chance to attend the GAMECON at the Best Western in Tyson's Comer last month. It went well, with over 200 people attending as vendors, game sponsors, or just playing games. Unfortunately, we didn't make any money on admissions, but instead lost somewhere around $100 after all of the costs were weighed in. The good news is that we brought in another 21 members, which means a bigger base of people to spread the word about NOVAGCON '97 in August! For our one-day convention next spring, we may have to change the cost and payment structure so that we don't go "into the red" again. That may mean a dollar increase for admittance, though that decision will be made by the new board after the election in August at NOVAGCON. Just in case you haven't heard, NOVAG will be hosting a Miniature Gaming Day at the Game Parlor on May 31st. See elsewhere in this issue for a tentative list of game events that we have scheduled so far. We have a nice mix of games right now, and I hope you can all be there to enjoy them. As an added bonus (to the free admission) is that anyone who attends will receive a FREE 25mm figure of George Washington in his uniform from the French and Indian War! Old Glory Corporation's owner Russ Dunaway has specially commissioned this figure for NOVAG, and it will be available from no other source! You don't want to miss this, especially if you're a fan of F&I! Reminder: If you plan on running an event in NOVAG's name at a non- NOVAG convention, let us know. You can be reimbursed for up to the price on your admission. There are only a couple of conditions: 1) YOU MUST HAVE THE NOVAG BOARD'S APPROVAL BEFOREHAND; 2) YOUR GAME MUST BE LISTED IN THE EVENT'S FLYER/CONVENTION BOOK; AND 3) YOU MUST LIST NOVAG AS THE SPONSOR IN THE FLYER! Email us if you have questions. P.S. Don't forget to send in your newsletter submissions for the July issue!
