The numbers are in on Gamecon 3, and we did not lose any money! Then again, we didn't make any money either. You got it, a zero sum gain. It seems 20 degrees below zero is too much for some gamers! The games that were held went great (we even had a realistic earthquake at Borodino) and we received commitments for future Gamecons. We also increased our membership, got the club's name out there, and some of us even made a nice little profit selling old stuff on the flee market tables. Although, our editor sold my stuff and I got the profits. It's good to be the king'. After the con (and Ray Koch's dead battery) a group of us went out for dinner and had a great time, ate a great meal and started discussing Gamecon 4. Gamecon 4 will be held on May 21st, at the Westpark in Leesburg. We need many games (preferably the game masters will show up to run them), vendors, flee marketers, setup helpers and attendants (many more attendants). This is our opportunity to show our colors, barring hurricanes, tornados or other forms of intervention by Mother Nature. Once again Dave Luff has volunteered to head up the con in his now official duty of Convention Committee Chairman (I don't get it), so contact him if you want to work with him on the convention committee or want to get involved. Otherwise, fill out your Gamecon flyer and I will see you there. We are looking for more people to run NOVAG sponsored games at local hobby, shops. All you need to do is let the editor know and let the store know it is a NOVAG sponsored game. It's that simple. For those of you needing play tests for convention games, this is your chance to get guinea pigs! On a final note, attendance at our monthly club gaming/meeting days has not been going as well as I had hoped. One of the great things about belonging to a club is trying new games, meeting new gamers and getting out of the house. So take a look at the calendar and come on out and see if the grass really is greener on the other side of the hill. Support your local hobby shop, and until next time .......
