Events

By David Luff

I would like to welcome, with the approval from the club officers, two new club sponsors, LAST DITCH Hobbies in Fairfax and FANTASY FORUM in Arlington. You can find their ads in the newsletter. This makes four hobby stoves who will give discounts to our club members which also includes WARGAMERS in Sterling, and GAME PARLOR in Chantilly. Stop by or call than for deals on am discounts and sponsored activities. Our club sponsors are very consequential to NOVAG for they provide open gaming areas, club meeting space, support for club events, and bring in new members. So make sum to tell than that you have seen their ads in our newsletter and remember to support your local store.

Is anyone going to one of the many gaming/scifi/LARP conventions being held this year and would you be interested in taking some of our fliers for NOVAG VIII with you? Send a postcard with your address and which con you are going to and we will send you a packet of fliers for you to drop on their flier table. This is one of the best ways to got the word out to the gamers on the details of our convention and which also reminds me to remind our members that we am currently accepting events for NOVAG VIII. Yes, I know it's 5 months away but as the saying goes, "time flies when your having fun?"

Lately I have noticed that events scheduled by the club is starting to get a little thin. If you haven't hosted an event yet, send the information on a postcard to us so that we can get it into to the newsletter or secretary report. Make sure to give us the details on the event and especially where it is being held. We are holding our first. GAME DAY at the Eastern Loudoun Regional Library and are looking for volunteers to help move tables on the Friday before at 4:30 PM, show up if you are interested. This should take no more than 15 minutes. With this event, we am asking for donations to the Library for the use of their room. So bring some extra change for collection. We have graciously been allowed the use of their amenities at no charge and this would be a way to help offset any costs and bring some good press to gaming. Fairfax libraries now charge a fee for their use, la's not lot that happen here. I hope to see you there.

Onto the soapbox (Oh. no .... ) The newsletter wants your articles on gaming or anything in general (that relates toward gaming). This is how we fill its pages, by the articles sent in by you. the members (and you don't have to be a member to submit) and the benefits of doing that is you can stop me from writing about it. You saw the last issues and how full they were: let's keep it up. Until next time.

Meetings Missed

If any member had tried to make it to our monthly meetings, I must apologize, for there was none scheduled for March. The meeting which was suppose to be held at the GAME PARLOR was canceled by mother nature and since we did not have a meeting, no secretary report was made which would have included the next meeting site. We will, in the future, schedule all meetings at least 2 months in advance so that this snafu will not happen again. You can call the meeting site if you want to make sure that it has not been canceled. Thank you.
