February Treasurer's Report

The signature card has been transferred and there is approximately $2,000 in the account.

The cost of a Message Machine/Phone Line for a call-in service, to get gaming up-dates was deemed to be prohibitive and we could not come up with a suitable location to keep a machine; therefore, one will not be puchased/installed at this time.

I was correct. Advertising for games/miniatures for sale/wanted is a cost free service for members. Just send your advertisement to NOVAG's P.O. Box.

Convention Business

GAMECON 192 - 20 FEBRUARY - I BURG WESTPARK HOTEL FREE TO MEMBERS! Please update any address changes at the convention.

Five Dollars ($5) at the door for non-members and an additional 7 Dollars for membership. (If you became a member or renewed at NOVAG '92 last October, you're membership is good until NOVAG '93 next October.)

Lots of open gamng. Scheduled games: Starfleet Battles, Age of Sail, Napoleans Wattles, "Boxer Rebellion" free for all, and the possibility of "Jutland" (WWI naval).

Bring games and figures to swap/sell. Six free tables will be available to members on a first come, first serve basis. Members will be able to display their goods on half of a table. Non-members and those desiring more space will have to buy a table for Ten Dollars. We have commitments from the following venders: Wargamer's, Viking Forge and Carnival Comic Books. Additionally, at least one individual has purchased a table with the intent of selling over 500 Avalon FED games and another member will be selling large numbers of 15mm MiniFigs painted pirates.

Anyone wishing to help set-up tables should show up at the Westpark on 19 Feb., Friday night, at 19:00 (7P.M.). Volunteers may also be required at 07:30 Saturday morning for final set-up. Vendor and flea market set-up will be at 08:00 and doors win be open to the public at 09:00. Close-out will be between 18:00 and 19:00.

Convention Committee (NOVAG '93/ 2-3 Oct.) still needs volunteers; although, a few good men have already stepped forward (thanks to our illustrious President, V-P, and Mark Barlow) others are needed -- don't think of yourselves as cannon fodder or Star Trek security teams, think of yourselves as future heroes of the state, as the saviors of a beleagured convention, YES, AUNT NOVAG NEEDS YOU. If you notice the composition so far you'll realize that we are far from a politically correct staffing. We're overloaded on WASPish types and need a broader representation ... well maybe no broader, I think all three of these guys take XL T-Shirts!

Next Meeting

18:00, 13 March. Saturday, at Games Parlor in Chantilly off Route 50.
